Letting Fish Be Fish-How the iPad Supports Universal Design For Learning

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

I'm travelling all the way from the interior of British Columbia, Canada, to hang with all the cool people at ST4T! This interactive, collaborative workshop will look at some of the built in features of the iPad that supports a Universal Design For Learning (UDL)  framework. We will do a brief review of the principles of UDL and participants will see concrete examples of how the ipad can offer students flexible ways to engage, represent, and express their learning-the 3 pillars of the UDL framework. Then, using a variety of apps, and working with the presenter, participants will have an opportunity to transform  a sample traditional worksheet assignment, using a UDL framework, into an opportunity to engage students and make their thinking visible.  Participants are encouraged to bring a device to this hands on session! Let Fish, be Fish! Links to the presentation on Google Slides will be shared with participants, along with links to other sites for future exploration. Some apps we will explore include: iMovie, Paper 53, Pic Collage, SeeSaw, Scrolling Credits, Stage Pro, Touch Cast Studio, Kahoot (are you ready for the Canadan Triva Challenge??), DuoInk Green Screen, Google Maps/Earth/StreetView.
