Hacking iMovie: Using Keynote to Power-up Your Movies

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Combine the power and flexibility of Keynote with the simple interface of iMovie to create professional looking movies/presentations. Features like text/title effects, animations, transitions, picture and picture, and green screening will be taught.
iMovie is an amazing movie editing tool. Unfortunately in its simplicity some advanced features are missing. iMovies text animations are limited and only allow for texted to be placed in specific locations. Attendees will learn how to use Keynote to create professional looking text animations within their slideshow. They will then export the presentation as a movie and open it in iMovie. From there they will be able to intersperse video footage and apply edits using the power of iMovie. Attendees will also learn how to overlay icons and symbols over their video footage using the picture and picture feature. They will create images and icons within Keynote, export them as a transparent image and then import them into their iMovie project.
