Classroom Video Tools to Meet Learning Goals and Engage Students

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

This presentation is about media creation. Video is a great way to tell a story, teach a lesson, or demonstrate mastery of a subject. With an iPad, Laptop, Smartphone or Flip Cam students can create media that meets learning standards and is exciting and engaging. I will demonstrate how students can create a storyboard, capture video, edit and share their creation with their teachers, peers and beyond. We will discuss iMovie, Windows Movie Maker and a few other "freeware" programs for Chromebooks. I have lesson ideas for most subjects, examples to show and rubrics for grading. I will also discuss sharing options via YouTube, Google Drive, Vimeo and social media platforms. Participants are encouraged to bring their devices and follow along or take clips to share!
Participants will gain the knowledge necessary to use video as a learning and assessment tool in their classroom. They will also leave having seen examples of student work, lesson plans and rubrics that can be used in their classroom. Participants who have considered using video as a classroom learning tool will be motivated and have the confidence to take the next step!
