We all know that everyone has a different way of learning. Some prefer to interact in groups, others rock their learning solo. Some prefer to work on something hands-on, others would rather read about it. At Williams Middle Magnet's media center, there are zones for all types of learning. There is a makerspace for hands-on creativity, an interactive screen for group collaborations, zones for individual exploration, iPads, Spheros, Ozobots for tech lovers, music areas, and even a miniature indoor Aerogarden for nature lovers.. This is not only helpful for media specialists, since any of these examples can be taken directly or modified for a classroom setting. Participants will gain insight to how they can incorporate different learning styles info their spaces at school. They will understand the benefits of designating zones for collaborative and individualized learning, as well as the potentials for cross-curricular and teacher to teacher collaboration to incorporate different learning styles.
